Strangled

The film concludes with what might be considered a 'happy ending,' but it leaves a lingering sense of unease. Everything is laid bare; nothing is left to the imagination. In the dead of night, the director unflinchingly exposes the calculated perversions of a conscious and methodical killer.

Sopsits' direction is assured and composed, skillfully managing the tension and narrative pace with an almost frenetic energy. Gabor Szabo's cinematography is dark and evocative, utilizing shadows and contrasts to heighten the sense of looming danger. The incisive soundtrack further enhances the emotional intensity, maintaining a constant edge of suspense.

A standout feature of 'Strangled' is its depth beyond a typical crime narrative. It delves into the complexities of justice and corruption within the legal system, portraying the moral struggles of authorities balancing case resolution with political pressures from the regime.
